  1. WINU Menu System For Windows 95
  2.  
  3. WinU is a Windows 95 menu system with timeout and security access features.
  4. It features three distinct levels of security control, and many flexible 
  5. configuration options.  It's easy to set up, easy to use ... and virtually 
  6. impossible to circumvent.

  8. This makes WinU excellent for parents who want to allow children to use only 
  9. certain software on the family PC, without worrying that Junior might delete 
  10. the household tax records.  You can even set up a different password-protected 
  11. WinU desktop for each member of the family.

  13. WinU is also ideal for computer stores that want to let the shopping public 
  14. try their featured software without allowing access to the entire computer.  
  15. WinU lets you set the amount of time that shoppers (or children) can use a 
  16. program.  It allows a warning "grace period,"  with a custom warning message 
  17. that you can set, before it terminates the program.

  19. Businesses can use WinU to allow employees to run only authorized software, 
  20. and make all other programs unavailable.  WinU is far better for this purpose 
  21. than the meager Windows 95 facility, because it is more powerful, more flexible, 
  22. easier to set up, and simpler for end-users.

  25. which tracks exactly when each programs was run, by who, and for how long.

  27. And WinU allows you to use any Windows bitmap as its background image.  Use

  30. the top half and the menu buttons on the bottom to give an unobstructed view

  35. Installing WinU

  37. To install WinU, run the program install.exe that comes with WinU.  It 
  38. will ask you the folder you would like to install into, the Start button 
  39. group name you prefer, and whether you'd like WinU to run at startup.  
  40. WinU will not install anything to any other folder, other than the one 
  41. you specify.  It will not change any system files.  If you choose to 
  42. uninstall, simply run the uninstaller program.

  56. Uninstalling WinU

  58. WinU includes an "uninstall" component.  When you install WinU, the 
  59. uninstaller is added to WinU's icons on the Start menu as well as to the 
  60. usual "Add/Remove Programs" list.  To uninstall, run the uninstaller.

  66. evaluation version for 30 days.  That is, you can run the program on 30 
  67. different dates.  These dates do not have to be consecutive calendar days.
